Degree Program: MSGDA '26
Hometown: Bakersfield, CA

At KGI: I am a 2nd-year MS Human Genetics and Genomic Data Analytics (MSGDA) student, and my goal here while at KGI is to further my knowledge about how genetics play a role in chronic illness and rare diseases. I grew up surrounded by those who suffered from Diabetes and Cancer, so I owe a lot of my passion to those who have shown me there is always hope. I am intrigued by how far we have come in the field of genetics and I know there is still so much to learn. I want to be present for all of it, and I hope to be a voice for the student body here at KGI, who want to make a difference just as much as I do.

Post KGI: After graduation, I plan on focusing on personalized medicine by partnering with pharmaceutical and biotech companies that are actively doing R&D. I hope to be a strong collaborator in this field, as well as a helping hand in the world, but most of all, I hope to always be a student of genetics.

Post KGI: I hope to work with clinicians and researchers on the area of human genomics. Whether it is in a clinic or biotech company, I want to be able to contribute my skills as well as pick up new ones along the way that can strengthen my knowledge and skills in the world of Human Genetics.
