Degree Program: MSGDA '26
Hometown: Bakersfield, CA

At KGI: I am a 1st-year MS Human Genetics and Genomic Data Analytics (MSGDA) student, and my goal here while at KGI is to further my knowledge about how genetics play a role in chronic illness and rare diseases. I grew up surrounded by those who suffered from Diabetes and Cancer, so I owe a lot of my passion to those who have shown me there is always hope. I am intrigued by how far we have come in the field of genetics, and I know there is still so much to learn. I want to be present for all of it, and I hope to be a voice for those in my program here at KGI who want to make a difference just as much as I do.

Post-KGI: After graduation, I plan on focusing on personalized medicine by partnering with pharmaceutical and biotech companies that are actively doing research and development. I hope to be a strong collaborator in this field, as well as a helping hand in the world, but most of all, I hope to always be a student of science.

As this field keeps on progressing, I am excited to see the new innovations and discoveries! I am dedicated to showcasing all the wonderful events, community, and opportunities here at KGI!

Post KGI: I plan to become a genomic data scientist, possibly working with physicians on helping patients find and treat genetic diseases. As I am interested in genetic diseases, being able to provide knowledge and aid is an important aspect of my values.

I look forward to collaborating with other programs on campus to foster interdisciplinary connections.

Post KGI: As of now, I aspire to achieve a residency post-graduation and become an ambulatory pharmacist one day. As a first-generation immigrant student, I recognize the value of having guidance and resources – I hope to mentor aspiring pharmacy students and guide them on the right path.

Degree Program: PharmD '28
Hometown: Cairo, Egypt

At KGI: I am a first-year pharmacy student eager to learn and grow within this wide field of work. I found that within KGI I am able to learn and grow as an individual considering the benefits of a small class size and amazing professors who are there to help you succeed.

Post-KGI: My aspirations after KGI will consist of an additional 2 years of residency to specialize in the field of cardiology. Ever since I graduated high school and ventured into the wide spectrums of healthcare, I found that cardiology resonates with who I am and what I like. The nature of this field has a very fast-paced environment that requires consistent concentration, competency, and knowledge.
