Student Accounts FAQ

How do I access my tuition bill?

Your tuition bill is available on the KGI student portal. Please check your KGI email account for your individual username and password in order to log in.

What does the tuition bill include?

The annual costs of enrollment are split in half and billed during the fall and spring semesters.

Your bill includes:

  • Tuition for your academic program
  • International Graduate Student Health Insurance (one-time annual fee billed in the Fall, auto-enrollment for all international students)
  • Domestic Graduate Student Health Insurance (One-time annual fee billed in the Fall, voluntary enrollment)

What happens if my account is delinquent?

An account is considered delinquent when the amount billed is not received on the due date. Delinquent accounts are subject to the greater of 1% of the past due amount or $50 weekly late fee. A financial hold will be put on the account, prohibiting transcripts and diplomas to be released. Once the account is brought current, the financial hold on your account will be released.

How do I enroll in or waive my student health insurance?

Health insurance coverage is mandatory for all KGI students.

Go to studentcenter.uhcsr.com and select your School/Organization (Keck Graduate Institute), then choose your appropriate plan to:

  • View plan materials
  • Enroll in SHIP
  • Waive the International insurance
  • Find a doctor
  • Print your insurance card
  • And view other important information

Can I make an e-payment?

KGI uses Paypal to accept tuition payments online. Please select the "Submit Payment" button in the Billing Detail Summary section of your KGI student portal to pay your bill online via e-check.

There is a 1% fee charged for all online payments. If you would like to pay via paper check, please make your check payable to "Keck Graduate Institute" and mail to:

I do not have a U.S. checking or savings account. How can I make a payment?

You may send payments the following way:

Wire Transfers

Wire transfers can be sent to the Student Accounts Office. Contact student_accounts@kgi.edu to request KGI's banking information. Please include your Student ID and the name of the sender on all wires.

Note: KGI does not charge for the receipt of wire transfers. However, international wires are subject to a fee from an intermediary bank between the sending and the receiving banks. Check with your bank to determine what fees may apply to your wire transfer and adjust the amount of your transfer accordingly.

I have questions about a particular charge on my bill. Who should I contact?

For all tuition-related charges, fees, and payment questions, please contact Student Accounts at student_accounts@kgi.edu; for loan, scholarship, or other aid related inquiries, please contact Financial Aid at financial_aid@kgi.edu.

My bill hasn't changed to reflect my recent payment. When will it be updated?

Recent payments will be reflected on your student account within 48 hours from receipt by the Student Account team. Payments can be confirmed by visiting your KGI student portal.

I have a credit (negative) balance on my account. Can I get a refund?

If you have a credit balance on your student account, you may be eligible for a refund providing that you have no other outstanding balances with KGI or with The Claremont Colleges.
